Every year, Ramadan is observed as a blessed month within the Islamic calendar. It is also an opportunity for Singapore’s multi-racial community to come together to celebrate this joyous occasion. This year, Nee Soon South GRC along with the Indian Muslim Social Service Association (IMSSA) collaborated to organise Harmony Iftar @ North West on Sunday 3 June 2018 at MPC@Khatib.
The event was attended by some 5000 residents. Iftar or break-fast is held in conjunction with the spirit of the fasting month or Ramadan. Residents were treated to a sumptuous meal served by IMSSA. Ramadan is a month for giving and for this special event all invited beneficiaries received hampers. The President of Singapore Mdm Halimah Yacob graced the event. Grassroots Advisers from the North West cluster, including Nee Soon South Grassroots Adviser Er. Dr. Lee Bee Wah also joined residents at the event.
